Financial Communications

SPJ provides financial communications support for listed and non-listed companies. This essentially entails assisting these organisations to tell ‛the story behind the numbers’. The related premise is that stakeholders are interested in original stories from companies that are distinctive in their markets. Our challenge in this area is to translate distinctive elements into the original story and to transform this into communication tools that can be used to reach the various target groups in the most effective way possible.

These activities are carried out by SPJ in conjunction with its ongoing communications support for Dutch and international clients. It also performs this role in relation to mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, corporate governance issues and reorganisations. Media relations play a pivotal part in this process.

Continuous communications support

Maintaining good communications with all stakeholders is vitally important for both listed and non-listed companies. This applies to the entire spectrum of stakeholders including employees, clients, suppliers, journalists, analysts or investors. The exact company strategy and vision and the milestones en route to executing them must be crystal clear to all stakeholders. In order to achieve this, it is crucial to remain in continuous contact with all the target groups.

Corporate governance issues

IPO communications strategy

An IPO marks an important phase in a company’s development that entails making a crucial transition from private to public ownership. Analysts, investors and journalists must consequently learn to appreciate the company and the company must learn to deal with the public interest. Steering this process constitutes the core of communications relating to IPOs.

Reorganisation communications strategy

Reorganisations are processes that entail far-reaching implications that can have tremendous impact on the relationship with employees, works councils, shareholders and media. At these critical moments, it is vitally important to prepare the presentation and explanation of the plans as thoroughly as possible. The related objective is to ensure that all the stakeholders are convinced of the correctness and/or necessity of the reorganisation and are prepared to agree to and co-operate in its execution. This is crucial because experience has shown that a credible and well-substantiated story can prevent a crisis of confidence from arising that could inflict long-term damage on the company that is already facing challenging circumstances.

SPJ has provided numerous companies with behind-the-scenes support with respect to preparing a reorganisation. In the interest of confidentiality, we have agreed with these clients not to state their names on this website.
